FRHS Class of '99 Reunion Meeting

6/28/09
Attended by: Jess & Melissa Lohr, Candi Durbin-Barickman, Jennifer Martin, Becky Lorentz-Dymond, Karl Huber, and Tara Darr-Kiser.

When
The Reunion will be a 3 day event starting on Friday October 2nd through Sunday October 4th. For more information read the following.

Menu
Everyone agreed that the pasta buffet is the best choice based on the options available. We decided on chicken breast, bow tie pasta, creamy garlic alfredo sauce and sweet marina sauce, california blend veggies, bread sticks, and tossed salad.

Bar Options
We discussed open bar being the most predictable option for cost. $6 per person is very reasonable for an open bar.

Missing classmates
Jess brought list of missing classmates. Everyone went thru list and will connect with those who they see on a regular basis. Everyone agreed that people who graduated early should be invited too. We will send out early invites to classmates with questionable addresses

Time line
Everyone agrees that a 3-day event would be good. Karl will send Jess the Fremont-Ross football schedule. If there is a home game, that will be the Friday night event and then go to the Depot afterward. We will have the announcer make mention that the class of 1999 is there. Saturday will be the nice catered event at Crystal Arbors. Sunday will be a family picnic at a park, location to still be decided. Class will provide the meat and every family will bring a dish to pass, table service, and their own beverages. Candi will check into getting Sandusky County Park for free or low cost and McDonald's to donate orange drink and sell us meat.

Ticket cost
Jess discussed the different ticket cost options and how the differences will affect the balance left in the account after the smoke clears. Everyone thought $35 per person was reasonable. Nobody thought it was necessary to give a discount for a couples ticket.

Invitations
Karl and Tara will look into pricing discounts for invitation printing. Jess' wife will get a price from vistaprint.com. Invites will need to go out in the mail around August 1 with RSVP due by September 5.

Teachers
Nobody thought it would be necessary to invite teachers.

Advertisements/Fundraiser
Jess' wife is waiting to get the sponsor ad request form from her reunion committee. Jess will send it out to everyone asap to take out to all Fremont area businesses. Jess' brother owns JL Contracting and has already agreed to buy an ad. Karl will find out a cost for Kinko's to print the program. If too high, Tara will look into printing them on the printer at her school.

Prepayment
Everyone on the planning committee said they will pre-pay their tickets. Candi is paid for both herself and her husband. Jess will be opening a checking account in the name of FRHS 99 Reunion in order to keep the reunion money separate and to avoid any confusion. People will then also be able to write checks to that name, rather than any particular person, to pay for their tickets.

50/50 Raffle
One hour of ticket sales. Committee members could take turns selling 50/50 tickets.

Deceased classmates
Candle table for classmates who have passed away. Moment of silence during the event to remember them.

Registration Table
A member of the class of 2000 will run the registration table. If she wants to stay for the event, she will need to pay for her ticket. A small thank you gift would be an option for her time.

Speaker
Undecided who will do this. Everyone agreed that Courtney would be a good option, but she will need to be asked.

DJ
Tom Carros has agreed to DJ for only $150.

School Tour
Nobody in attendance thought there would be time to do a school tour. We will put that on the back burner for the 20 year reunion.

Name Tags
Pre-printed name tags for all classmates who order tickets. Blank name tags for spouses/dates. Becky suggested putting Sr. pictures on the name tags, but it was agreed that with our shortage of time that we should save this idea for possibly the 20 year reunion.

Photographer
Tara will work on getting price info for different photographer options.

Newspaper ads
Natasha will post an ad in the newspaper to announce the reunion. Missing classmates will be listed on the Fremont News Messenger website. The high school will put an announcement on the electronic reader board. Jess will check to make sure Natasha corrected the reunion date with both the newspaper and the school.

Centerpieces
Purple cracked ice in cylinder vases with a tea light set inside. Mirror will already be on the table. Will also have the purple linen napkins at each place setting.

Favor
We will pursue a sponsor to provide favors. Otherwise, we would like to try to keep the favor cost down to around $2 per person.

Start-up money
We were hoping Jamie would be in attendance today with the $600 start-up money from the school. We will continue to try to reach her so we can get deposits paid on time.

Next Meeting
Our next meeting will be August 2, 3pm at Candi's house. We will be stuffing invitations to go out the next day and discussing progress on details like sponsors, favors, photographer, and any other unfinished business.

Thank you Candi for opening up your home for the meeting and for the awesome cookies! Also one follow-up note... Thank you Karl for getting the football schedule emailed to Jess so fast! According to the schedule, Fremont Ross is playing at home against Findlay on Friday, Oct. 2, so we will be moving forward with plans for attending that game as a class. AND... it's the Homecoming game!
